Students from Ummat Foundation Andarkot enthusiastically participated in the “Women in STEM” Conference organized at Banasthali University. The conference was conducted in collaboration with the British High Commission in India and the University of Oxford. The objective of the program was to empower and strengthen women’s participation and leadership in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
During the conference, science experts from the University of Oxford delivered detailed lectures on modern research, innovation, and emerging scientific trends. The students were introduced to international research methods, laboratory practices, and global academic opportunities. The event provided an important platform for the students to connect with a world-class academic environment.
On this occasion, IAS officer Arushi Malik, a former Chevening Evening Fellowship scholar, delivered an inspiring address. She said that girls from rural and underprivileged backgrounds need confidence and proper guidance to move forward in the field of science. She stated, “If given opportunities and support, our daughters can make their mark on any global platform.”
Swati Sharma, Commandant of the Rajasthan Home Guards, emphasized the growing role of women in leadership, security, and disaster management. She encouraged the students to follow the values of discipline, dedication, and self-reliance. She said that women today are playing leading roles in every sector and their participation in fields like STEM will help shape the future.
Students from Ummat Foundation who participated in the conference included Injila Khan, Nahid Khan, Sheikh Nida Sultani, Apsara, Asma, Shaheen, Bushra Anjum, and Saima Khatoon. The students actively took part in different sessions and shared their questions and ideas through discussions with the experts.
Representatives of Ummat Foundation said that participation in international-level programs like this increases the confidence of students and inspires them to dream bigger. The foundation remains committed to supporting the education and growth of girls from underprivileged communities through such academic opportunities.
